L.Q. - What were the significant Civil War battles in Georgia?
Monday - Students will begin a Civil War battle poster project that includes a research paper, cause & effect of the battle, and Georgia map. This research paper should include where the battle happened, who was involved in the battle (famous people, groups, etc.), who won the battle, when it occurred, and a summary of events in the battle. Students will present their poster, explain the main points of their assigned battle, and identify their battle on a class map. Due Friday, 12/14/18 Tuesday - Research Civil War battle information and pictures. Link for New Georgia Encyclopedia research is attached below. Tuesday - Analyze two first hand accounts of Sherman's destruction of Atlanta and March to the Sea Wednesday - Students will answer questions on the Battle of Atlanta and Sherman's March to the Sea. Thursday - Finish Georgia in the Civil War notes on Andersonville prison; Complete questions on the GPB "Andersonville" virtual field trip Friday - Students will watch the History documentary "The Conquerors" on Sherman's March to the Sea and answer questions. |
