Monday - Students will participate in a review game on Georgia in the Civil War (SS8H6b) and also have the evidence sheets and RACER from last week checked for a grade.
**Students will be introduced to the Georgia Studies Site Visit project that will have students visit one verified historic site anywhere in the state of Georgia. (Note: Students must have approval from the teacher for the site that is chosen.) This project will be due Feburary 27th to allow ample time for students to visit on a weekend or school break if needed. Attached is a link to the Georgia Historical Society's list of historical places to facilitate some ideas for a site to visit.** Tuesday - Quiz on SS8H6b Wednesday - Documentary on the holiday traditions that evolved during the American Civil War; Students will receive the Site Visit report sheet Thursday - HOLIDAY BREAK Friday - HOLIDAY BREAK

Monday - Students will begin the process of document analysis to answer the question "Why did the Union win the Civil War?". This assignment will include Thinking Notes for each document, answering questions in complete sentences, and citing evidence (quotes) to answer questions when necessary. Students will complete questions for documents I-J on Monday.
Tuesday - Complete questions for documents K and L Wednesday - Complete questions for documents M and N Thursday - Complete questions for documents O and P Friday - Students will complete a RACER graphic organizer which will use cited evidence to answer the question "Why did the Union win the Civil War?" Monday - Students will finish the Mapping the Civil War activity using notes and textbooks; Note: This map will be included as part of student's notes. Tuesday - Students will begin a webquest on the major Civil War battles in Georgia Wednesday - Finish Civil War in Georgia webquest Thursday - Bullying/Harassment lesson with counselor Friday - Students will complete questions on the History channel series "The Conquerers - Ep. 8, Sherman's March to the Sea" |
