Monday - Students will watch the "Haunted Savannah" documentary and complete a 5 question exit ticket on the stories that pertain to what has been covered in class.
Tuesday - Students will complete a performance task on the removal of the Creek and Cherokee from Georgia. This will include a chart of and online timeline of the events covered in the guided notes. Monday - Students will review for the Growth of GA quiz through a review game or a study guide Tuesday - Growth of GA Quiz (SS8H5a,b,c); Begin guided notes on the removal of the Cherokee and Creeks in GA (SS8H5d) Wednesday - Finish SS8H5d notes; painting analysis on Trail of Tears Thursday - Students will analyze documents on Andrew Jackson and Elias Boudinout with Thinking Notes and guiding questions Friday - Finish doc analysis on Andrew Jackson and Elias Boudinout with a RACER graphic organizer and extended response on the central historical question "Why did people in the 1830's support Indian Removal in Georgia?" Monday - Students completed a speech analysis on a Junior Scholastic article titled "On the Stump". This article included two excerpts from speeches given by the two major presidential candidates and questions for students to answer.
Tuesday - Students will complete a 4 square comic strip on the different land distribution polices of Georgia during the late 1700's and early 1800's. These include the Headright system and the land lotteries as well as the Yazoo Land Fraud. Wednesday - Finish the land distribution comic strip Thursday - Complete guided notes on standard SS8H5c on the growth of technology in Georgia during the late 1700's to early 1800's. Friday - Reading and questions on the invention of the cotton gin and it's impact on Georgia Monday - Students will participate in a board game and iRespond review for the unit test on SS8H3 and H4
