Monday - Students will complete the study guide, essay outline, and/or the review game cards on the causes of the Civil War. With time allowing, students will participate in a review game covering the causes of the Civil War (SS8H5a). Tuesday - Quiz on Causes of the Civil War (SS8H5a); Preview Georgia in the Civil War (SS8H5b) Wednesday - Students will complete guided notes on Georgia and the Civil War. Thursday - Students will participate in a gallery walk of document analysis called "Stepping into the Civil War". Friday - Mapping the Civil War activity

L.Q. - What were the causes of the Civil War?
Monday - Students will begin a document analysis packet on the causes of the Civil War (SS8H5a). There will be class sets of documents provided on the Compromise of 1850, Georgia Platform, Presidential Election of 1860, and Debate over Secession. Students will respond and cite evidence for questions on their document analysis sheets pertaining to the documents. This will help them answer the question "What Caused the Civil War?". The end result of this document analysis will be completing and submitting the document analysis sheets and an essay outline at the end of the week. Monday - Students will begin the unit on Georgia and the Civil War by completing guided notes on the causes of the Civil War. Students will also have an opportunity for credit recovery in the computer lab. Tuesday - NO SCHOOL/TEACHER WORKDAY Wednesday - Finish guided notes on the causes of the Civil War; matching game of the events/timeline on the causes of the Civil War Thursday - Students will complete a Civil War states rights vocabulary sheet and begin a map activity on the Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850 Friday - Finish map activity on the Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850 |
