L.Q. - What were the significant factors that affected westward expansion in Georgia between 1789 and 1840?
Monday - Students will complete part 2 of the unit test (SS8H3). Tuesday - Students will a fill in a Georgia map and complete a writing summary on the Georgia capitals using a class reading. Wednesday - Students will complete guided notes on standard SS8H4 and the growth of Georgia. Thursday - Students will complete a Growth of GA webquest. The links for the webquest and questions are attached below. Students will type in the answers to the questions, print the page, and submit for a grade. Friday - PSAT Testing/Finish capital cities map activity Attention: All this week is Conference Week. School dismissal will be at 1:30 each day.

Monday - Students will review the standard SS8H3 which includes the causes of the American Revolution, Georgia's role in the war, Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution through a study guide. Students will have Monday and Tuesday to complete the study guide in class. Tuesday - Finish SS8H3 study guide Wednesday - Students will participate in a group review game on standard SS8H3 Thursday - Continue review (**Subject to change due to Fun Run) Friday - Unit 4 test on SS8H3 L.Q. - How did the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation lead to the ratification of the U.S. Constitution?
Monday - Students will complete guided notes on the ratification of the U.S. Constitution; Students will begin an assignment that compares the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution Tuesday - Finish the comparison chart of the Articles of Confederation vs. U.S. Constitution Wednesday - As part of a cross-curricular activity with 8th grade physical science, students will learn about debate procedures and the pro's and con's of nuclear power in the United States. The discussion of debate and building a debate platform will tie into the debate involving the new Constitution. Students will read two articles on the issues of using nuclear power in the United States and complete a graphic organizer on building a debate platform.
