Monday - Students will receive guided notes on the Reconstruction of the American South after the Civil War. Topics will include the Freedmen’s Bureau, sharecropping and tenant farming, Reconstruction plans, 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution,Henry McNeal Turner and black legislators, and the Ku Klux Klan.
Tuesday - Students will finish the notes on Reconstruction and begin a tic-tac-toe of mini-projects on different aspects of Reconstruction. Wednesday - Reconstruction tic-tac-toe projects Thursday - Reconstruction tic-tac-toe projects Friday - Milestones Review quiz #1/Documentary of Reconstruction Monday - NO SCHOOL (MLK Holiday)
Tuesday - Social Studies Benchmark test #2 Wednesday - Students will complete a Civil War 150 scavenger hunt by answering riddles for the different categories on the History.com Civil War "Explore Topics". Thursday - Jeopardy review for the Civil War quiz on Friday, January 23rd. Friday - Civil War quiz (election of 1860 - end of war); Milestones #13-14 Monday - Students will continue with Cornell notes on the Civil War including the major events and battles. Tuesday - Students will complete one last map activity on the Civil War by tracing out the major battle sites in Georgia and Gettysburg, Antietam, and along the Mississippi River as well as documenting the March to the Sea. Wednesday - Sherman's march through Georgia documentary (answer all questions) Thursday - Students will complete a 6 C's on an AJC article on the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Atlanta Friday - Milestones Review #10-12 Monday - Teacher Workday -- NO SCHOOL
Tuesday - Students will watch a Crash Course video on the lead up to the Civil War. They will then complete guided notes on the election of 1860, Alexander Stephens, and the debate of secession as part of finishing the unit of the causes of the Civil War. Wednesday - Students will complete a 1861 secession map and cartoon analysis on the 1860 election between Lincoln/Douglass Thursday - Students will complete a 6 C's of Primary Source Analysis on President Lincoln's inaugural address Friday - Milestones Reviews #7-9 |
